Organization MCP Servers

Organization MCP servers let a team expose shared tools or data sources to organization-owned Gobiis.

Open MCP server management at https://gobii.ai/console/advanced/mcp-servers/.

When to use organization scope

Use organization scope when:

  • Multiple team-owned Gobiis need the same tool server.
  • The server uses organization-managed credentials.
  • Admins should control assignments.
  • A personal MCP server would create continuity risk.

Use personal scope for experiments or user-specific tools.

Setup flow

  1. Create the MCP server.
  2. Choose the connection type supported by your deployment.
  3. Configure authentication or OAuth.
  4. Test the server.
  5. Assign it only to the Gobiis that need it.
  6. Send a controlled test prompt and inspect timeline tool activity.

Assignment policy

Avoid assigning broad tool servers to every Gobii by default. Assign based on role:

  • Research Gobiis may need search or data tools.
  • Operations Gobiis may need internal systems.
  • Customer-facing Gobiis may need stricter write approvals.
  • Demo Gobiis should usually have limited tools.
